Staff Accountant II - Posting #26778

Hourly Rate: $31.25 - $36.06 DOE
Annual Salary: $65,000 - 75,000 DOE

Position Summary:

Full-time Staff Accountant II position available for our Finance Department in Seattle, WA. The Staff Accountant II assists in the invoicing of grants, reporting to various agencies, recording cash receipts, and assistance in the preparation of financial and statistical reports. 

Performance Requirements:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements in a timely manner including journal entry input, format and enter balance sheet/revenue statements on spreadsheet forms. Maintain detail and explanations for journal entries.
  • Perform payroll, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, and coordination with NCEC Director for grant tracking. This includes preparation of payroll tax returns and analysis of vendor invoices.
  • Responsible for filing CPB grant report annually.
  • Assist in annual financial audit including preparation of audit schedules.
  • Assist with preparation grant budgets and invoices as is relevant to general ledger information.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of three years’ experience in general accounting. 
  • Ten key calculator by touch. 
  • PC spreadsheet and word processing experience.
  • Equivalent experience and a 2 year degree may be substituted in lieu of a 4 year degree.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis.
  • Must be able to compile, interpret, and utilize information. 
  • Must be able to resolve accounting irregularities.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • English required; English/Spanish preferred.
