Salary: $72,028.06 - $74,936.64 (DOE)

Position Summary:

Sea Mar is seeking a Full-Time Nursing Supervisor for the Mt. Vernon Medical Clinic. The RN / Nursing Supervisor oversees the clinical/nursing services for this program. He/she is responsible for the program performance as it relates to the medical clinical care to address the concerns of older adults with Mental Health Disorders, anxiety, depression and aging. Through this program, the psychological care received encourages clients that have been hospitalized for longer periods of time to learn specific skills to reenter in the community.

The RN/Nursing Supervisor is part of a care team working to provide quality comprehensive services to the GeroPsych Facility patients; and the RN/Nursing Supervisor will work collaboratively with staff to provide team-based coordinated care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement nursing policies and procedures in collaboration with the Psychiatric Nurse Manager and Program Administrator to meet Sea Mar’s standards, philosophy, and governmental regulations.
  • Good communication (both written and verbal) and team building skills are necessary for this position. 
  • Consultation with clinical staff to review cases and provide recommendations about diagnosis, medications, and other treatment considerations.
  • The RN/Nursing Supervisor develops appropriate treatment plans and provides effective treatment care with appropriate evaluation; He/she is responsible for the oversight of the LPNs and other RNs.
  • Phone availability for emergency review of medications and their effects, or for refilling prescriptions.
  • Chart documentation to include written notes of psychiatric evaluations, medication reviews, and any other client contacts.
  • The GeroPsych Facility RN/Nursing Supervisor will maintain a Psychiatric Medication Chart under the supervision of the Psychiatric Nurse Manager, make copies of all prescriptions, and obtain all necessary medication consent signatures from each client.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients.
  • This person must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient related information.
  • This person must receive a background check from DSHS and Washington State Patrol.
  • This person must comply with all ethical standards of Sea Mar and those required by DOH (Washington State Department of Health).
  • The person in this position shall have no history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three (3) years immediately prior to the date of employment at the facility, and no misuse of alcohol or other drugs while employed at this center.
  • The Behavioral Health Director shall sign and date the job description to affirm the validity of the information herein.

Education and/or Qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed and Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Washington.
  • Experience working with Behavioral Health patients, and experience working on inpatient settings is preferred. 
  • MHP, prefer certification as minority Mental Health Specialist as prescribed by WAC, must have and maintain TB test annually.
  • This position must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and is required to maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.
