Position Summary:
Full-time MA Supervisor position for our Bellevue Medical Center.
The MA Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the performance of the MA’s and LPN’s working in the pod and also assisting with patient flow issues including performing procedures as needed. Other duties include assisting with patient acute illness screening, administrative duties as assigned and managing phone messages for the providers in the assigned pod.
The MA Supervisor will be required to follow other instructions and to perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or Clinic Manager. The MA Supervisor works closely with the Nurse Manager and assists with administrative duties. These duties include but are not limited to quality assessment, improvement, medication inventory, supplies, biohazards, infection control and audits. The MA Supervisor is team oriented; works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members to provide the best outcome for patients and the organization. Must be available as a rotating Saturday clinic supervisor.
Responsibilities and or Qualifications:
- Must be Certified Medical Assistant with the State of Washington.
- Must have over a year of ambulatory and supervisory experience.
- Manages the overall function of the pod he or she is assigned to.
- Working knowledge of OB/GYN medical terminology & procedures is required.
- Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Provides patient education and demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Responds to patient questions and requests.
- Assists provider in obtaining appropriate consents and ensures they meet federal guidelines.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required. Other languages welcome.
